Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Snake Tongs
I have bought 2 of these snake tongs and I have to say
they are well made and the machined finish is very professional.
Recommended !
I wouldn't be without them as we get snakes ( bad ones as well )...and I have kids.
Im not scared of snakes just want to catch them with no fuss...with these tongs
its no bother...you can just grab them and move them...
The stick and brush method I employed before wasn't as successful....
Good luck with the Advert

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Snake Tongs
Lev that's a Golden Tree snake.....don't need tong's for that one.
Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'?
Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Snake Tongs
So what would you do with it?Hobiecat wrote:Lev that's a Golden Tree snake.....don't need tong's for that one.
Use your hands and catch it?
Golden Tree Snakes / Racers, are venomous and should be treated with a bit of respect.
This snake might kill you if you are allergic to it's poison.
It's not a Viper but it still must me treated as a dangerous snake.

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Snake Tongs
Yes This golden tree snake was in the basket of our bicycle.
I only seen it as I walked past it was watching my every move hahaha
Just got it with the tong...But boy they are fast ! I put it over the wall...
The Malaysian Pit Vipers I am a bit more careful with !
I have plenty pictures to put on here but I cant get them on
as when I try to attach them the photos are too big.
So I will have to find out how to do this...
I do have pictures of a good sized cobra caught with our tongs in Hua Hin.
Hope everyone is well Cheers for now

Do you find that 1.5 metres is long enough when dealing with Cobras and Pit Vipers - I wouldn't like to get that close in case they strike out?James77Edwards wrote:Yes This golden tree snake was in the basket of our bicycle.

Thank you for the link Big Boy
Life saver there !
We have made them in 2.1m and 1.8m they were too long
to catch snakes effectively.
1.5m plus your reach works well.

Dannie if you are really keen on trying your hand at being a snake wrangler i would strongly suggest some sort of eye protection if dealing with a Cobra i think Thailand has three type's of Cobra but can you tell which one is the Spitting Cobra. Here's a good link to learn a bit more.

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Snake Tongs
We've had one Cobra in our garden (not exactly sure which one) and my wife wouldn't let me go near it and called somebody (about 6 people in the end) who came and dealt with it. Even with these tongs, I don't think I would want to tackle a Cobra, but for other snakes it might be ok, only problem is, you don't always know what it is until you're fairly close up to it.kendo wrote:Dannie Boy wrote:Do you find that 1.5 metres is long enough when dealing with Cobras and Pit Vipers - I wouldn't like to get that close in case they strike out?James77Edwards wrote:Yes This golden tree snake was in the basket of our bicycle.

Hi James,
I've bought a couple of your tongs (through Tom) for friends of mine. They've had a lot of success evicting snakes with them. They're very pleased.

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Snake Tongs
Hi James, I would have bought a couple of sets years ago had they been available. As an engineer I made a couple of sets myself and would not be without them.
Looking at the sets that you are selling, they are really well made ( aerospace aluminium alloy), wow that stuff is pricey...
Good luck with what appears to be a well made product. 1.5 M long, for me, is far too close for comfort unless you get the snake close to the head....mine are 1.8 M and seem about right, with possible extension of arm. But seriously....if in doubt call in an expert to deal with a snake.....wrangling a, minor risk, tree snake is one thing, handling a viper or cobra is in a totally different league and should be left to the experienced, those with a death wish or thrill seekers.
