Swimming Pool Lights

Post by Pagey »

My swimming pool is about 5 years old now and is fitted with two halogen lamps. I usually only switch them on 3 or 4 evenings a week for 4 or 5 hours at a time.

In the last 12 months one bulb has blown 3 times and the other 4 times, both are currently out. It costs me 500 Baht a time to replace them using my pool cleaner service.

I have looked online to try to find the reason and one suggestion was they maybe getting too hot so switch to LED lights.

Has anyone had a similar problem or can someone recommend a pool service that can quote me for replacing the transformers and lights with LED.

Thankyou.

when the bulb is changed the connector which the bulb fits into should be changed also,

you wouldn't need a new transformer if you change to the LED lights the ones you have can be used, for an 8 watt LED light we can install in Hua Hin for 5000 baht per Light they are resin filled so leaks are no worry.

I just presumed as my transformers had the wording Halogen on them that they would need replacing.

They did change the connector on at least one occasion although I didn't take much notice.

Thanks for the quote and thanks for the number, I will definitely ring him, probably early next week. :thumb:

I suggest that you contact PoolMaster for pool lights. They have been quite helpful in answering questions. Easy to reach them thru phone and live chat. You can also try their website at thailandpoolshop to see their swimming pool lights. Hope this still helps. Cheers.
