I am afraid I can't be of much help in advising a good dentist. Only offer some advice about steering clear of Dr. Nikorn.
I went to have a root canal done about 3 years ago - and I had to give up.
He caused me so much pain I couldn't continue. I am not sure what he was using as an anaesthetic but it wasn't working.
I was leaving for Singapore 2 days later and had to be prescribed pain killers to allow me to work. I had the dental work done later in Singapore -painless and efficient.
I would look for a dentist in Bangkok.

Whats with Dr Nikorn? And are Bridge treatments available?
Whoa guys some of you are recommending the good Dr Nikorn and some are not!
In the UK they stopped using the laughing gas to send you to sleep, can you still get the gas to put to sleep for operations in Thailand (thereby getting round the pain factor) or have they put a stop to it in the LOS too?
Any of you guys heard how much a bridge (for one tooth) costs?
I'm looking at around £200 for that in the UK.
Any one had a dental 'implant' (not the silicone one!:)) over in the UK its about £1500 pounds per 'tooth'!!!! Any idea on the price in BKK?
Thanks for your time on this one!

I had very good experiences with the new clinic "Dental 2000".
The clinic isn't near the San Paolo Hospital anymore.
But the new building is placed Phetkasem Road, in direction to the south, before the (U-turn-)bridge, left side.
The prices are very fair, and if they're unable to offer you a good treatment, they'll advice you to another clinic in Bangkok.
I know it's not the usual Thai-style, but they really go this way !

Yes I had a crown done at dental 2000 about a month ago. 5K did a good job 2 visits, complete in a week. Dentist seems to have good and bad days as regards jai dee probably because they are pulling in the dollars by working 7 days a week, appointment slots hard to find (During High Season). Treatment good though, will go back for more traetment soon.
Cheers
