Wound Care

Post by canthai »

Hello I am looking for advice on someone who can take care of a healing open wound in both Bangkok and Hua Hin. I am presently in Canada getting treatment every three days which mainly consists of changing the dressing and repacking with fresh anticeptic dressing. I am leaving Canada on the 30th of January for our annual 1 month vacation to our home in Hua Hin. I would expect my wound to have healed by the time I depart however if I require a few more dressing changes I woulds like to arrange any appointments before I leave. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Craig

Bangkok Hospital have done a good job with my massive open wound, although there were a few mishaps along the way. My 3" diameter leg wound is now fully healed.

As an outpatient, always under 1,000 Baht. Prices escalate rapidly if medication is required. Ointments - I generally provided my own. Less than 100 Baht from any pharmacy, but Hospitals would charge 500 Baht each time. If you have to use hospital ointments e.g. first time, take the opened tube with you and bring to your next visit. If its running low, take the tube to a pharmacy and save a lot of money.

Thanks for the quick reply. Presently they are putting no ointment on the wound. The wound is repacked with a specially treated packing tape.

Specially treated packing tape sounds expensive.
