WHEEL CHAIR -where can we hire one?

Post by hannao »

As my mother has had a serious accident and left with an injured leg, we are in need of a wheel chair so that she can get out of the house more easily. Does anyone know where we can hire a wheel chair for a couple of months?

Best regards,
Hanna

Unless one of the forum members has a wheelchair they can lend you, the best place to start would be one of the local hospitals.

There is a post on TripAdvisor from 2009 indicating that there is a wheel chair rental shop at Market Village. Perhaps others will know if this shop still exists. Pete

Market Village cetainly have wheel Chairs that you can borrow from the information desk.

There is also a shop on the right hand side of Market Village that has disability aids. I'm not sure if they have wheelchairs, but worth asking.

... and as it happens, that would be me. I wasn't sure if we still had it, but we do. It was loaned to a friend recently who no longer needs it, and you'll be welcome to borrow it in a couple of days.

Post an email address on here, and I'll get in touch.

Great! I'm helping out from Sweden and my parents, in their mid 60's, are in Hua Hin. I'll give them the great news tomorrow, tried to reach them but they are promably asleap. It's been a terrible week for them so it's so wonderful to find such good and kind folks in this forum. The Bangkok Hospital didn't help at all with tips on how to find a wheel chair. There is a store in Market Village where my father bought crutches. But she is quite fragile at the moment and cannot walk more than a few feet with crutches. Therefore it would be great to have a wheel chair. It seems that I can't post my e-mail here as I'm a new member, one has to have made ten posts first. Might I have your e-mail?

Hi.
My email is hanna at ortman dot nu, but maybe better if you write directly to my dad, his email is hans at ortman dot nu. We'll give you the phone number when you write. They live very close to Market Village, in Soy 94, Pattana 2, in an area called Tropical Vision.
You are an angel!
