The death toll from road accidents during the first three days of New Year holidays has risen to 205 at the end of December 31, Deputy Interior Minister Sermsak Pongpanit said on Sunday.
Sermsak said 43.42 per cent of accidents happened on December 31 were caused by drunk driving.
On Saturday, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation announced that the death toll at the end of December 30 was 118. But Sermsak said at the end of December 30 the death toll stood at 87.
The government has been monitoring the road accidents from December 29 to January 4 in the so-called most seven dangerous days.
But it appears that different government agencies count the figures differently.
How do count a dead body?
A little dead?
More dead?
Extra dead?
