@gregjam: We (AA Hua hin, www.insureinthailand.com) already started the Hua Hin International Expat Club (HHIEC) years ago, just for this reason, to be able to start group policies and get discount at insurance companies.
We already have 1 group policy running (in one of the top plans of Pacific Cross) but it will be easy to start a similar scheme as the one that PEC is running since we work a lot with AXA.
Maybe we can start to make an inventory to find out how big the demand is.
Interested? Send a short mail to info@insureinthailand.com. In this e-mail please also give your age.

But please note that a group policy like this is absolutely not risk free. The coverage at the mentioned AXA plans at PEC are not sufficient for the real serious cases. Plan A has a maximum of 700,000 baht and the top plan has a maximum of 1,500,000 baht. This might seem like a lot of money, but we see many cases every year in our office where much much higher amounts are involved. Besides that the insurance company will look at the loss ratio of the members of that group only and increase the premiums for the whole group according to this loss ratio (so a few expensive members can blow up the discount of the group).

Anyhow, looking forward to the e-mails!!

usual suspect wrote:Thai Life Insurance..about 6 doors up (North) from Bangkok bank..longest established Co. in Thailand & your health cover allows you to use most private hospitals nationwide..including Bangkok Hospital here in H.H.

Do you have any email or phone number for them? So I can make contact, not in Hua Hin at the moment.

Thanks
