I have just had a phone call from Ricardo]. His father in law is sick in Hua Hin Hospital and losing a lot of blood. He is rare blood group O negative. They are desperate for blood. If anyone has or knows anyone who has this type blood group could they go to Hua Hin Hospital urgently to donate. Many thanks

your friend needs to monitor what is going on at the hospital. be proactive. make sure they focus on the issue, maybe talk to the blood donor lab and make sure they know who the blood is for. past requests for blood have seen donors turned away because it was past the labs closing time! good luck.

A new development for those of you not in the immediate Hua Hin area. The Red Cross will accept donations (stating for Mr Herrera) at any of their offices.

After communicating with Ricardo earlier today, and being O Neg myself, I headed up to HH Hospital to donate. First time I have been to that hospital and it can be a little intimidating and busy, especially if your Thai language skills are at my low level. But the Blood Bank is easy to find. Just walk around to the rear of the main building and look for the stairs/lifts. Just go up to the next level and you will see signs in English for Eye Clinic and Blood Bank. Basically turn right once you come up the stairs and the Blood Bank is directly opposite the Eye Clinic. I was the only person there for a short time and there was a lady that took my details that could speak excellent English. It was painless and hassle free and very similar to the procedure in Australia. So all good and hopefully his Dad is on the mend soon. Cheers.

People with this blood type have been donating from all over Thailand and the Red Cross are transporting this to Hua hin for this gentleman . This is fantastic , totally restored my faith in the human race !!!
