Your local hospital should be able to cope with it - just ask, nothing to lose..

OK.....as far as Type 2 diabetes is concerned then you should also look beyond lifestyle food intake solutions. Anyone concerned with this diabeties type two situation should have a look at grape seed extract of good quality as an alternative to metformin as it [metformin] has way too many side effects despite it working. Grape seed extract is increasingly becoming the darling of the type 2 diabetes community because of it's power of out-performing metforim etc.
Most doctors who know about it recommend about 200-300 mg of grape seed extract a day as it slows the absorbsion of glucose/sugar into the blood. I won't go into the details and will let you folks investigate. Metformin is a synthetic drug that works but they have no idea how it works, just that it does.......and it has numerous possible side effects.
Check out grape seed extract. Also worth noting is that many consider a lack of magnesium in the body to be a major factor in the development of diabeties in the first place.

My Mother in law (Thai) lived with us when we were in the US. She uses the pen also. When we moved to Bang Saphan she brought 3 months worth, but when gone went to the local (small) hospital. They got her a different style, and strength, but has been working well
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

Better. Thanks. Would seem I have some added joy here. The insulin isn't doom what it should now. Never rains but...
Very good to know that there's a different insulin option. All I've been told by my local specialist diabetic nurses of late is to increase the dose! Sponsored by Sanofi, the manufacturer of Apidra and Lantus.

Just re-read what I wrote in response to the last posts. Hmmm. I replied on my iPhone, late at night and without the benefit of my reading glasses... Should have read 'the Insulin isn't doing what it should' instead of 'doom'. Every so often a complete idiot taps on a keypad, this is he! Apologies for the nonsensical post
Re: Diabetes control.
Can anyone please advise of the cost locally in HH of both long and short acting insulin in HH? Been trying hard with oral meds to get off the stuff yet seems its not to be, need to know how much of my pension insulin will eat up every month. Thanks.
