I don't know where the guy who posted that got his info, but I can confirm that there is construction going on there, and it is a replacement or a sizeable extension to the existing HH Hospital. other than that we'll just have to wait and see I guess...The hospital is being built on the grounds of the old Hua Hin Hospital which has moved to temporary quarters across the street. The hospital is being built for the King and the top floor is reserved for the Royal Family. The remaining floors will be open to the public and the doctors will be the best in the Kingdom. Doctors will spell each other off for a month at a time, coming from Siriraj, Chulalongkorn...all the best hospitals in Thailand will send doctors to Hua Hin. It will be a world-class medical facility.

I have recently moved to hua hin with my thai wife and when we ask Thais here about hospitals in this area , everyone , without exception , tells us to avoid san paulo.
They dont have specialists in residence there , and they take every opportunity they can to pad the bill.
The hospital that is most often recommended is the Petcharat hospital about 40 kms north of town. If you need an ambulance to collect you , they will come and get you.
If I needed any treatment that wasnt a life or death emergency and a 30 minute journey wouldnt jeopardize my condition , then thats where I would go and thats where I would take my wife.
Does anybody know when the new hospital is scheduled to open ?

For those who need urgent treatment head south to pranburi there is a military hospital which is open 24 hours and provide a emergency treatment room and all facilities, I have personally never used this military hospital but after gaining a none too healthy cut on my hand and severing a tendon, my entrance to SP was quickly halted by a demand for 50 K in cash and a wait of seven hours for a surgeon to arrive to deal with the injury, A taxi was called and a 2 hour lightning trip to Bangkok to a military hospital near victory monument, “Pramongkutkhloaâ€

NB These are military establishments do not expect them to palaces, they are hospitals, not pay as you go health clubs or lippo-suction centers
SP seems to only be interested in private plastic surgeries and related procedures, the emergency dep't doesn’t come up to many standards which you would expect any practicing private or government Hospital
