Say 'Hi' to a New Retiree John, from Australia

Post by Melbourne John »

Hi,

I'm John, 60 YOA from Melbourne, Australia. I arrive HH on 29 August 2016, after having visited there previously. I intend to spend some years in HH in retirement. I'm single.

Please contact me if you'd like to chat, meet, give me tips, even sell me something [useful! LOL]

Here's a bit about me:

Accountant/economist, Ph.D
Sports fanatic: any football code (including AFL, international and Australian soccer, Rugby, Rugby League), cricket, netball [those ladies are athletically fantastic]
Fitness lover
Food and wine lover
Movie lover

Please do say hello. I'd be delighted to make the acquaintance of fellow residents of Hua HIn.

Welcome aboard John from an English Brit who is a regular visitor to Oz (family).

Australia is such a wonderful Country but when I was there over Christmas, having not been there for a few years, I was gobsmacked by the price of pretty much everything!

Anyway, you've chosen Hua Hin and it's a great place. I've just bought there but yet to move in, but know it well as a result of visiting many times since 2000.

As you know, the town has grown with various expat outposts around town, so it might help to give an idea of what area you're staying in?

Good Morning. I'm Kevin retiring from the airline industry next month ( Flight Purser) and also giving serious thought to HH. Possible I will pop down for 10 days next week. Be good to perhaps exchange emails. Meet for a drink. Hope it goes well for you both.

Hi Gents,

I'm situated in a Villa in West HH, off Soi 102 - about 10 minutes drive from the new and old main malls. Currently in a rental [two months] then off travelling then into long term accommodation in the very swish Falcon Hill development.

I'll PM you both with my email.

Welcome to the forum John, and also to the Kingdom, another Victorian on the move! I'm sure you will find value in the forum particularly if your looking to settle here. I had completed my primary and some of my secondary schooling in Melbourne and later spent time working there. All the best with settling into life in Thailand.

Hi John
We are from Perth. Just settled on a property in gated community. We plan on retiring here in the next few years. Unfortunately we leave on the 10 September to go back to work. Back again at Xmas. Hope you settle in well.
