Blimey, I had to do a double take there, thinking did we really have two threads for the premiership???

I'm wondering whether much transfer business will be completed before the WC? I think the frenzy might start later.

Ooh - good news about JT, I hadn't seen that.

The Sherwood sacking was covered on the other thread. Maybe the mods could close that one now?

Why don't we just have one constant Premier League thread instead of starting a new one every season? Technically, I'll have to start a new thread if I want to talk about something that happened last week!
This is the way

Fine with me if admin wants to take the years off this one and make it permanent. Or, do we need a Premier League sub-forum within Sports with separate threads within that for things like transfers and other special subjects? Maybe a separate thread for each team to keep things organized. Just thinking out loud. Pete

I think one new thread a year is ok. Some forums do have different threads for each team, but I'm fairly sure there's not enough of us here to really make that work.

But yes,I think we can probably close the other thread now.

Ho hum... back to bloody work today. The beautiful period of being paid for doing nothing has come and gone...

Just to finally wrap up last season, Chelsea's U21's beat Utd's 2-1 at Old Trafford tonight to finally win the U21 Premier League. They'd already topped the league table, but then the top 4 have to go into a play-off as well.

The game was covered live by both Sky and BT Sport and it was fantastic, with some tremendous talent on show. Chelsea were deserved winners and the better team on the night. I really hope some of these guy's get a chance next season. And with the youth team winning the FA Youth Cup, hopefully, the very expensive academy will start churning out future stars - I hope so.

So, the despicable Ryan Giggs has retired.

I don't understand why all the papers are giving him the time of day and lauding him as some sort of super human. The guy cheated on his wife... with his brother's wife (or girlfriend... can't remember - same difference).

He's right up there with the likes of, 'Captain, Leader... Utter Twat', John Terry.

No wonder places are going to shit when the media use these sub-humans as role models for youngsters.

Giggs was a true legend AS A FOOTBALLER with nearly 1,000 appearances and 34 trophies in over 20 years as a player.
However his personal life is another matter......humping his brothers wife for over 7 years....his father and his brother dont have the same high opinion of Ryan.
But a new era opens for United with the appointment of Louis Van Gaal as their new manager on a 3 year contract.Van Gaal has won titles with Ajax,Barcelona,AZ Alkmaar and Bayern Munich and will be given sizeable funds to restore United to their former glory.
Van Gaal said "To work with Manchester United, the biggest club in the world, makes me very proud."
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho welcomed Van Gaals appointment "He is a great manager and I am glad he joins me in the same country in the Premier League" said the Portugese.
"But more important than that he's a great guy,a great man and I wish him well."

Wayne Rooney to Chelsea with Van Persie taking over as United captain, anyone ??
