Is there no citing in football as there is in rugby for example? I mean where a player can be cited for a professional foul, foul-play etc., etc. after the fact where the referee and linesmen have missed it in "real time".
[EDIT] Also where certain "errors" in refereeing can be corrected - i.e. a yellow card being rescinded so the player is not banned for the following game.....
Corrected that spelling error for you.
No citing in 'real-time' if that means there and then. If the officials have missed something that the cameras pick up, that is dealt with after the game.
I don't know about the World Cup, but there is usually no appeal against a yellow card.
Going into extra time now. USA is being badly outplayed but still 0-0. USA 5' from goal mouth and the ball popped over the net by Wondolowski at 92 minutes in regular time.

Hmm, I think you're basing your opinion on the stats rather than the play. Belgium have had something like 18 corners, but haven't come that close at them. The US defence has been really good, and Howard is having a great game.
It really should have been done and dusted for the US in the last minute!
Belgium still favourites, but not by much - as far as fitness is concerned, there really shouldn't be any difference between them at this level.
What a great game!
Feel a bit sorry for the USA, who probably deserved to get it to penalties.
Can't understand how Fellaini was left on the pitch for more than an hour.

Think you need to look at your spell-check Caller
With regards to the yellow card, it can't be good being banned for a game (or contributing towards it) due to some cheating barsteward taking a swan dive. When so much is at stake, surely the card should be rescinded if video evidence proves the case.
prcscct wrote:Yes, nothing for the USA to be ashamed of. They played their hearts out. 2018 is another chance and another 4 years to improve. Hats off to them. Pete
After the 1st game, I was loathed to waste time watching any more, so actually only saw extra time after switching channels to check the score. Actually thoroughly enjoyed those 30 mins and as you say Pete, hats off to the USA. From extra time at least, they deserved to go to penalties IMHO.

Suarez has got serious mental health problems and in the UK courts would get a suspended sentence . Robben is a cheat and would go to jail . Seems about right to me. Why the refs are continually fooled by the most blatant of dives is another of life's mysteries .

This News of 7 Players of the German national squad suffering from Flu was all over the news in the German Media today. My take on this that there is some truth that a couple of players are sick. I think Yogi Loew deep stacking expectations ahead of the 2nd round of the knock out stage game against France on Friday! To lure the French into a false sence of comfort that with their strong squad they can actually beat the Germans (which they CAN DO as anything can happen in this World Cup which there many examples of it already! The French coach knows about this mind game tactics is trying to keep his team focus and sharp as a Bayontte to stay focused and beat the Krauts and Bratwurst. But the Germans will advance to the third round stage spraping by with a narrow win.

^ One of the key players for one of the teams the other night was out of the match with flu as reported by the TV commentators. I think a midfielder, but I forget which team?
EDIT: With the hot/cold changes between field and hotel room, and the quantity of people there, we shouldn't be surprised.
