Kansas City beat Baltimore 2-1 to win the ALCS for 2014. 4 games to 0 is quite an accomplishment against Baltimore, and I suspect Kansas City will be difficult to beat by either San Francisco or St. Louis in the World Series. Kansas City hasn't lost a game throughout the playoffs.

Giants cruise past Royals, lead World Series 1-0

The Giants ended the Royals run of eight consecutive wins this postseason.

Baseball, among many other things, is a game of statistics. They have them for anything and everything you can think of concerning the game and players. One real nice one is that the team who won game #1 of the World Series went on to win the series 15 out of the last 17 years. Let's hope that stat holds. Pete

Billy Butler's single broke a 2-2 tie and drove in Lorenzo Cain with the first of five sixth-inning runs that helped the Kansas City Royals to a 7-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants that evened the World Series at a game apiece.

Looks like we have a gunfight! Travel day tomorrow, then the next 3 games in San Francisco. SF will have to win the next 3 games in a row to be able for them to win the series at home. Games 6 and 7, if needed, will be back in Kansas City.
