Team England 2016

3 LIONS LED BY DONKEYS

Fury as cold-blooded Fifa chiefs ban England and Scotland players from wearing poppies on shirts during World Cup qualifying match.

Thoughts: The world is going raving mad. This is the type of crap I voted against because it was regularly coming from the EU. Starting to think it wasn't the EU, but the UK becoming the world's laughing stock. It's open season on the UK. Can you imagine France or Germany standing for such a move?
Championship Plymouth Argyle 0 - 1 Preston NE

Poppy fiasco --

Post by oakdale160 »

FIFA needs to get a red card for this one.
This isa matter of national identity and culture and the Swiss FIFA (who of course were noticible absent during the fights for liberty) should keep out of it.
I also wonder if individual players elect to wear a poppy, have they the freedom of expression to do so.

I saw this on Facebook which says it all about the poppy.

I am not a badge of honour,
I am not a racist smear,
I am not a fashion statement,
To be worn but once a year,
I am not glorification
Of conflict or of war.
I am not a paper ornament
A token,
I am more.

I am a loving memory,
Of a father or a son,
A permanent reminder
Of each and every one.

I'm paper or enamel
I'm old or shining new,
I'm a way of saying thank you,
To every one of you.

I am a simple poppy
A Reminder to you all,
That courage faith and honour,
Will stand where heroes fall.

Sod FIFA, wear the poppy and take the fine!!

Truly mind blowing that you are told you cannot honour those that gave their lives for us. Absolute bloody tossers - and the English and Scottish FA's give in to them, who's the worst? :cuss: :banghead: :cuss: :banghead:
