Police knock bars back to midnight-closing

Post by usual suspect »

Seemingly the 'Binta-Bars' (if not all) have been told this evening by the police that from tomorrow
night the bars must be shut by 12.00. :banghead: No reason given for this..as usual.. :guns:
I did hear this maybe only for 2 weeks..any of you know more about this..???
We all know it's supposed to be 12.00 closing anyway, but 2.00am seems to work fine for all.

(For all you 'Mom & Pop-shop drinkers' this will not affect you, so please try not to rub negative comments into the wounds of those of us who rely on revenue from the ever decreasing numbers
of beer-drinking tourists that DO choose to holiday in HH)

Glum news fof someone like me who generally struggles to get home before three when I'm in town but hopefully it will fall by the wayside before I get back in a couple of months.

Just FYI, not a good thing IMO, but there is legislation that looks like will pass in Pattaya that the venues will be allowed to run 24/7. They'll need an new organization formed to go around and pick up the drunken bodies off the street on a regular schedule.  Pete

no....really...it does make sense.....middle of the high season, busiest time of the year....bugger with the bars and piss off the tourists.

see....Im assimilating nicely! ;-)

On a serious note, not heard of this from Mrs S but will ask. Maybe the Monks are getting sick of Abba till 2am.

serious note 2 - bar owners beware.... the Grammy Scam tossbags sent out their usual extortion letters last week that make for hilarious reading. Make sure your "proof of mugging paper" is up to date as there looks to be another round of visits in the pipe.

Can confirm, owners of bars in the 'karaoke district' were cowering under the tables in darkened venues after midnight last night in fear of the brown uniformed Taliban who had already been round cracking their new whips.

That seems a sensible idea to get the few tourists that are here to return again next year. NOT.

I will just go out two hours earlier tonight.

At least that's very positive news that he's well enough to travel to his place down there. It's been long but quite a remarkable improvement for a man that age. :thumb: Pete
