Let's hope that these rumors are only hot air.
I see the Bin Thabat district (aka Soi Hoi) as a major Hua Hin attraction.
I read a lot of speculation above, but does anyone have any facts?

I agree. I can't see the central area moving out of town and having the same vibe as it does now. Purpose built red-light districts aren't fun at all. IMO, Disneyland can build a purpose-built family fun city, but it doesn't translate well to red-light districts...

I notice that it doesn't even get a mention in the average travel brochure.

Hi there Y'all my friends and fellas of HHAD!

reading all of your posts on this thread reminded me to a similar situation like Buksida mentioned during the early Mellia years when the first when they want to strong arm those little Bars out.
In my case it was during my last few Semesters @ Stamford waaayyy inside Palm Hills in 03/04 when I heard from my aunt who was an 8 year veteran resident of Cha Am but swung back and forth to Hua Hin to send them Kids to Salesian and later on Somtawin. She's very talkative and know almost all the inside stories about Hua Hin & beyond.
Back then it was the talk to move the Bintablok and all adjacent Bars the Shop houses @ the Canal Road. Anticipating a move few Bars opened and closed shop afterwards as plans didn't materialized.
I had Google Earthed that place @ Soi 94 and Soi 94/1 I can't see that all the Bars would be moved to this Area as this would be a guantlet type of Bars by far to small to fit all the Bars in and around the Bintablok. Of course there's something to add that those Google Earth Pics are old since they where taken a few yaers back and once updated once.
For me I've have had walked through the Bintablok a couple times I have a couple of friends the during last visits to Hua Hin last year one time it was close to dusk I felt kinda comfortable walking through those narrow streets. I would be sad if someone would rip out this naturally grown Bar scene @ The Heart of Hua Hin. I think those Bars can devellop themselves into upscale Bars those type that the Bangkok OB's prefer ut it takes TIME! but with some TIME isn't an issue as the Land has so much value but very little rent return. I hope those responsible in redevellopment plan this verry througgh as once you change something good and it turns bad it can't e reversed.!!!

Just take a look at the HHAD nightlife map Pete. That's it in a nutshell...

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

And while we are talking, "massage parlors" are popping up all over downtown, like weeds! Many of them apparently offer all varieties of extras...

hey!
what do you think about the future of soi 80??
in the last couple of years i noticed that more and more bars opened up... last month there used to be like 20 bars!
is it already a sign of the bars moving out of soi Bin Thabat?!
as a house owner i am thinking about either opening up a bar or selling the house ... :)
cheers!
