Hi,
Daytime or Happy hours prices you will get some for around 60 Baht in the Bars , Nightime will increase up to 80 or 90 Baht, most of the Bars, still have some exceptions,at the moment it looks like they will retain the midnight closing, but you will find some places where they will only close when you are leaving (if you're the last one ).

Re: beer prices
Too many people moan about the price of a beer.
For the price of one Heineken here in Dubai I can buy 6 or 7 in a bar in Hua Hin, Think yourselfs lucky.

Re: beer prices
How anyone can moan about lager prices in Hua Hin should go back to England for a real surprise!

Re: beer prices
Generally 80 / 85 is the rule in the centre of town (outside of happy hours). Some areas (notably Soi 80) now have several bars towards the main road end that 45 / 50 is the norm.
Re: beer prices
On average £3 a pint even in local pubs, and that's in the North of England. It's more expensive in London, and in nightclubs / popular bars.osirus wrote:How anyone can moan about lager prices in Hua Hin should go back to England for a real surprise!
Re: beer prices
So, at admittedly the higher end of what's been quoted, 80 THB for basically half a pint. 160 THB a pint equals about 3.20 GBP.
Beer isn't cheap here any more.
Don't go back to the UK much but two years ago prices in London (not West End and not happy hour) were just marginally more expensive then here.

Re: beer prices
Usually around 50 for Happy Hours and 80-90ish for later, some places such as El Murphys and O'Neills also sell draught beers for I think 160+
There are some fantastic Sam Smiths pubs in the heart of London selling a good bitter for £2.03 per pint, the company is not as good as in Hua Hin though. :-)

An excellent reality check Lomu. I was at a wedding do in York at the weekend and thought I'd been stung at £10.65 for 2 pints of Guinness and a coffee in the Marriott! Now that doesn't look too bad. And my usual hostelry is £2.80 a pint for most real ales...positively cheap.
But for any new visitor to HH I would suggest giving some of the other brews a try, like the Leo and Tiger, which are usually a bit cheaper in bars and lets face it still preferable (IMO) to Heine.
But if all else fails there's still the 7Elevens eh?

Re: beer prices
Probably because it's looked upon as the poor Thai man's beer. I've had a few cans though and don't think it's too bad. In fact the day I had it, it was great as I was hot and thirsty and it was fresh. A big change from the more expensive beer with the 3 month old bottle date that I seem to run into a lot these days. I forget what the shop was charging but it was very inexpensive. Petecaller wrote:Out of curiosity, why is Archa not available in bars and restaurants?
