Occasionally life does not only throw one a bone, but a full, juicy, fall-off-the-bone double rack with all the trimmings and several jugs of cold beer. In this vein I stumbled upon a place called Souay Vista on 94th street.
It’s a bar and restaurant but above all it’s about music, about Sturm und Drang (the philosophical movement, not the band) with delightful lashings of Gefühl und Stimmung.* SV is a jamming place where guest are welcome to jam along, sing, clap and generally have a good time with acoustic ballads, trova, country, celtic, reels, jigs, shanties, classical guitar and whatnot. Guests are welcome to request, so the choice of music is up to you.
It’s a Bohemian kind of place with really very nice and friendly crew and customers. Obviously birds of a music flock together and music brings out the best in everyone.
SV opens daily at about 7.30 PM and the music is on every day. Tuesday it’s The Stone band, Die Meistersinger der Classic Rock, Friday it’s blues, folk, country, da woiks.
Want to know more about the SV? The map is under and you might call the owner, Paul 086 002 93 68 or the Big Boss, Bird: 083 601 21 08. They are also on Facebook, so you’ll get all the latest from there.
Visit the place, you’ll like it!
Their website is: souayvista.com

"There's no plausible or convincing reason, certainly no evidential one, to believe that there is such an entity (= deity) and that all observable phenomena, including the cosmological ones... are explicable without the hypothesis; you don't need the assumption."

Re: Souay Vista, music & mood
I'm actually just nursing a sore head after getting out of Souay Vista at around 2.30 this morning.
There was a great Irish whistle player in there, Dennis, back on holiday from Belfast, Paul the owner, and a few other lads and we had a might seisún.
I've been there a number of times and the craic is always 90, so definitely worth a look in as Farang says

My mind wandered and never came back
