You sound a great caring dog guy! Remember Soi dogs are dogs same as yours - just abandoned perhaps by guys like you and having to live off the streets. First thing to do is get your dog either castrated or speyed as the case may be.

"a stick sounds liKe fun" - how sick are you?

While on the other hand you, 'easy as', probably prefer that the dog you own.... you know....'part of the family' 'n all that, gets ripped apart by the lovely dogs gracefully skipping past you that you see on a daily basis.

If a street dog goes for you or your dog, you have every right to use any weapon (a stick usually does the job) with force to be able to carry on your way.

My dog has been attacked twice now whilst walking on the beach.......since I paid good money for her and care about her I now carry a stick and will use it without hesitation to defend myself and my dog.

Easyas...I hope you get a pack of Soi dogs outside your place real soon.......

I suppose it was only a matter of time before someone managed to find something offensive on a dog thread - god forbid we ever have a topic about disciplining children!

I don't see a problem with carrying a stick when walking your dog, or even just walking yourself - I can imagine it might prove to be very useful. That doesn't mean you're going to be thrashing every mangy soi mutt you see.

I imagine easyas was not upset so much by the stick as by the "sounds like fun" - bit of a thoughtless comment, but hardly sick!

Down, boys, down! :thumb:

We did a while back and it went about the same way as the dog threads...
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

They are dogs yes and I don't go around kicking dogs to make me spunk. The dog just ran up to my dog and attacked it so I kicked it.

Maybe the that sounds like fun bit wasn't needed but I don't think I meant it literally, I wont start running around with a stick hitting dogs with a big smile on my face.

FYI: The waterholes in Hua Hin (and all of Thailand) are called bars. BARS. Not "pubs". Pubs are bars in Britain where they sell flat beer with no head :run:

Think I understand the first and last word in your comment Ric. but combined I don't have a clue.
Did the flat beer theory put you off Richard?

Some parts of the UK serve flat heavy beer (Derbyshire for one) but most places fail IMO if there is no head

Exactly! You must be sick to want to use a stick, when in fact a gun would be so much more effective. Anyone know where you can buy a cattle prod?
