St. Patricks Day in Hua Hin

Post by hhfarang »

It just occurred to me that St. Patty's day is two days from now (March 17th I think). Do any Irish owned bars or restaurants in town celebrate with parties of any kind?

When I lived in California, there were celebrations everywhere with green beer flowing freely, parades, costumes, etc.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Belive me, IF there are Irish bars in HH they will indeed celebrate. Don't know of any, though.

Yep, we're doing a special St. Patrick's Day cruise on our solar-electric catamaran SunCat1 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in cooperation with Paul at Souay Vista (soi 94).

So there will be live acoustic music with 4-5 musicians (including a fiddle player and hopefully also an accordion player) and a 4-course Irish meal will also be served:

Starter: mixed seafood cocktail with Irish whiskey flavoured cocktail source, plus 2 different home-made liver patés (one with whiskey, one with rum) on the side with wheat crackers.

Soup: potato, leak and smoked salmon soup with a dash of Pernod accompanied by home-made Irish blue cheese and walnut wholemeal soda bread.

Main: traditional Irish stew with mutton, pearl barley, potatoes, carrots and stout accompanied by home-made plain brown soda bread.

Dessert: Carageen moss vanilla pudding with amaretto and a drizzle of raspberry and cointreau sauce.
Chocolate Guinness mousse topped with fresh cream
Home-made brown bread and whiskey and Bailey's ice cream

plus an Irish margarita

We will also have pints of Kepplers Cider and Murphy's Stout on board.

We have set the limit at 20 passengers on the boat and we currently have just 2 places free

No - I don't like bars and taverns or what some of you call Pubs. They always seem to serve alcoholic beverages, be full of drunks, smokers, loud "music", lepricorns, football or rugby fans and other scum of the earth.

My preference is a plush brothel with forthcoming beauties, dimmed light and soft music. Now you know, if you didn't already! (wink wink)

Same day as St Paddy's HHF - bit of a coincidence :D

And as St Patrick was actually a Welshman, I'm sure he'll be at the Millennium Stadium rather than "HQ".... :naughty: :duck: :run:

Although truly, I do hope Beelzebub's XV run off at the final whistle with their tails between their legs.... :thumb:

Isn't Murf of El Murphy's Irish? And there's that other place on Poonsuk. Is it O'Neil's now?

But HHF, ya gotta come downtown if ya wanna party.

Not for me, I just brought it up as a public service thread for others who may want to celebrate the occasion.

So I guess I misspelled St. Patrick as well, it must be St. Paddrick...
