There are those that do and those that don't. I've come across plenty of people here who have come all the way out here yet still somehow managed to get themselves into a relationship where they are 'under the thumb'.

Pretty sad reason for picking a place to live. :tsk:
Agreed. As a perk, fair doos. But it being the entire basis of your decision to live somewhere, it wreaks a bit.

The climate is great (though not sure hhfarang would really agree :D), but doesn't really have much to do with hh's response to europtimiste's post.

theprice01 wrote:Thank you Pleng :), yes, i believe they would be looking for girls to go out with. they all think it will be really hard to find girls lol, i'v told them them they shouldn't find it so difficult :D
Well best place to 'pick-up' girls, without too many grandads around, if they're here for a short stay is probably the bar in the Hilton. If they're here for a long time, are not butt-ugly(and even then...) and in no rush then finding a date is easy enough. Guesthouses, restaurants, the beach, Market Village, fresh meat markets (no pun...)... the list goes on. Though don't necessarily expect to get laid on a first date with a girl picked up outside the bar scene.

I think if I owned a bar on Soi 80, I'd call it, 'just another bar indistinguishable from all the others, but without a stupid name* that bears no relation to the interior and which doesn't have cheap plastic signage'. Or something like that.

Kind of rolls off the tongue, don't you think? :D

*The subtly named 'Whippet Inn' being a notable exception! :naughty:

^ Just to be clear, a Whippet is a English breed of dog. It doesn't mean whip-pet.

I'm sure there's a British pub named the Wobbly Whippet somewhere in the UK.

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

And definitely never to be confused with "whip it out" (English is a strange language) :D

So that should read.....whip it in, whip it out and wipe it.....right?

Whippet inn is a good addition to soi 80. COLIN,Ex Sinatras, runs a good kitchen. Nice and airy, unlike most of the little shoe boxes on 80. Comfortable chairs, multiple overhead fans, bar girl free.
