Hi Simmo. Takiap has quite a few bars down there now which for the most part are family friendly. If I was you I would just take a walk from one end down to monkey mountain one day as it's not that far. This way you could pop in to a few bars that take your fancy and go from there.

Hi Simmo,

Best Beans Coffee would be a cool place, great burgers/salads/ice cream and deserts. Just after the Cicada market. A little further down is Beer Oclock bar and guest house, friendly place owned by a nice Australian guy - they do awesome evening meal specials, last night was garlic bread and salad followed by lasagne (no joke one of the best I have had) 169 baht!! Bob and Noks is a few doors down, betting into lower end of takiep is TK Roadhouse (formerly called Velo Rouge) lovely cool wooden bar with good regulars. Last but not least is Oasis bar, they do great food and have a lot of local customers.

Hope that helps! :thumb:

Plus there's a really cool little rustic wood-brick place called 'Lost Cafe', which does good food imo, and is a drink or food type place. Plus 'Uno' restaurant/bar on the corner of the first beach road... not sure what their foods like, a Thai run place I think.

Pics here of them, plus location map (blue markers) here in link, which I think covers all the places JW mentioned too...
