Hua Hin bars closing at midnight
Re: Hua Hin bars closing at midnight
Why do we not have a 'boring' smilie?
RICHARD OF LOXLEY
It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Boring or not, it looks like this will go on for a while; I see from the Bangkok Post that martial law will likely last for the duration of the interim charter which will exist until the next election which will be in October 2015 at the earliest.

people must be boring, when have to make such a comment,or maybe you could be the "boring moderator police man" who decide when a post is boring and you could delete it when you get boring, or maybe don't comment boring post at all and post some interestingrichard wrote:Why do we not have a 'boring' smilie?

I find that interesting cause I haven't seen that yet! Is the score they are settling related to their Thai gf working in a bar and going for ST/LT with Falangs ? My friend was just mentioning yesterday how scores do get settled allot in this country, Thai's don't forgive and forget that easily.. hmm.uncle tom wrote:or whisky fuelled Thai men with a score to settle..

As you said RICHARD many bar owners are happy with midnight closing, not much profit after 12 and the bar girls don't like late night pick ups.

Personally, I like a late drink or two. The Hilton I heard is still open late. Had a really good night in there. I would be the one dancing to the previous track
Re: Hua Hin bars closing at midnight
Totally agree, Hilton is open after 2am and is really a great time, went there a couple of weeks ago, good music!falanglongtime wrote:Personally, I like a late drink or two. The Hilton I heard is still open late. Had a really good night in there. I would be the one dancing to the previous track

Said before but worthy of another post....
If the bars mostly close at midnight it is for a number of reasons. Regulations normally dictate if and what should close when. However we are living or holidaying in Thailand where rules and regulations are broken every day and ignored by the authorities. I won't start to list examples as we all know that the list is endless.
If there was a demand and money could be made by staying open later, the bar owners would find a way of "pleasing" the authorities or at least encouraging them to look elsewhere.
For the very few establishments who are able to appropriate the necessary licences and or support the cost is very high and this is reflected in the cost of what we buy. This is economics 101.
For one, although I am a lover of nighttime venues, when the need arises, I am very happy that Hua Hin has at least reached a balance in this respect. Don't wish for something so different because, your wishes can come true. Hua Hin is a better family resort because of the tighter control. I believe that for 99% of the time Hua Hin residents and visitors would agree, for the 1% Pattaya, Bangkok and a few other destinations would maybe suit them better.

Those of us who have been coming here a few years will remember a number of nightclubs that have come and gone. I enjoyed them at the time, but I don't think there is the population to keep them going year round. Market forces determine what lasts! We have a reasonable selection of places open just about 24 hrs, if you know where to look.
Enjoying 'Retirement'....So many jobs to do, I don't know how I ever had time to work!

Talking of night clubs, I see there's what looks like a new one on the road to Pranburi on the right hand side.

Where abouts? I saw what looked like a nightclub near the Thaksin buildings before Khao Tao, same place?Big Boy wrote:Talking of night clubs, I see there's what looks like a new one on the road to Pranburi on the right hand side.

Very jealous. I won't be back till November at the earliest. Good music...not sure about that. I remember attempting a rave dance which at my age, I should know better...jumusman wrote:Totally agree, Hilton is open after 2am and is really a great time, went there a couple of weeks ago, good music!falanglongtime wrote:Personally, I like a late drink or two.
