I know there were earlier reports about a ferry service between Pattaya and Samui, maybe stopping somewhere around Hua Hin, Cha-Am or Pranburi. But as I recall there's no mention of any ferry on any of the signs I saw by the Takiab construction the other week (although I might have missed it). All I saw was that it's for harbour improvements with new breakwaters. There's also a nice picture of people strolling and a few boats, but nothing that looks like a ferry. I think it would have to be a pretty small craft to manoeuver around the new harbour inlet as well. Is there any hard information about this?SydneyGuy wrote:... and was on the other side next to Anatasila and the new ferry terminal yesterday ...

At the northern end of Takiab beach the rock wall is being extended and a commercial pier being built to accommodate the new Pattaya>Hua Hin Ferry terminal. Construction started back in January this year, i believe it should be completed mid next year.

Perhaps this needs to be a separate topic. But...
@SydneyGuy, why do you believe this is a new ferry terminal? Do you have a source? A sign? A news report? I saw nothing on the signage at the site to indicate this. I Googled for news about the supposed Hua Hin - Pattaya Ferry (and on to Samui) and there seems to be nothing since July 2015. At that time the reports I found talk about ferry terminals at Cha-Am (just north of Rama 6 army base) and/or Pranburi, to be decided in August (but no follow up). Just trying to find out. A ferry terminal just there would be a great way to ruin the beach I think.

BB's pic at viewtopic.php?f=36&t=30733#p398556 is the same sign I saw and doesn't look much like a ferry terminal, with a few small boats drawn in. The project description at the site doesn't mention anything about ferries either, if I recall correctly. Still dubious!
Re: New Development Takiab South
Yeah, watching that sign it reminds me as a pier for smaller boats like fishing and stuff. And the outlet of the pier seems a bit small for bigger vessels to maneuver in it. Besides, how could the boats from the fisher community exit and enter to the river if there would be a constant blockage from the ferries?hhinner wrote:BB's pic at viewtopic.php?f=36&t=30733#p398556 is the same sign I saw and doesn't look much like a ferry terminal, with a few small boats drawn in.
