A chance to ride hot-air balloon comes very rarely, so grab this chance. For three weeks starting on Feb 12, the First Hua Hin Hot Air Balloon Festival will be serving up an adventure that promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It includes a jaunt in a limousine, breakfast with sparkling wine and live jazz.

Guests will be picked up at 6am from their hotels and driven in a limo to Hua Hin Hills Vineyard where they will board hot-air balloon for a trip lasting 45 minutes. The flight will be followed by breakfast with sparkling wine served in a tent with music supplied by a jazz band. All participants will receive a certificate plus a framed photo of themselves taken during the flight. After the presentation they will be driven back to their hotels in the limo.

The special package is priced at 12,000 baht per person for people staying at Rest Detail Hotel (Hua Hin) and 15,000 baht for guests of other participating hotels.

I wonder how they would charge if I use my own transport and also skip the meal. Wouldn't mind a jolly in a balloon though. :thumb:

That is a strange restricted area to be launching a balloon from. And with the hills around that area the out-landing could be a bit iffy.

Do not be surprised if the balloon is tethered, and the "flight" is just straight up and down. :?

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Balloons fly early because they can't handle much wind. Hua Hin is one of the windiest places in Thailand. Can't imagine anybody is going to set up a balloon without prepayment. If the flight is canceled, what, if anything, is refunded?

An old pilot's saying is that it's easy to make a small fortune in aviation. You just start with a large fortune. The guys selling rides who aren't trying to convert their passengers into students often resist returning money for any reason with the tenacity of a terrier that's latched onto it's prey. They'll do anything to justify holding onto it, including a tethered 'flight'.

Excuse me but a 'Balloon Festival' normally has 20,30+ hot air balloons..not a single canopy offering a VIP experience from your hotel.
I too thought this was an area of restricted air-space.
As far as I know the only proper balloon-fest is at Khao Yao N/P South West of Saraburi, and is getting
very popular now.
Sounds like this outfit is targeting 'honey-mooners' for that special one-off trip.
