Apart from many of the Hashers losing the trail, getting slightly lost & being out in the 'bush' a bit longer than normal..when I sat down at the end with a big cold Leo in 1 hand & a big cheese+pickle sarnie in the other it all seemed worth it...happy-days. :thumb:

Directions for this Saturdays Hash:

"Hashers

As the Cha Am Hash website is in transition at the moment you are getting early notice by e-mail about the 20 July run.

Location: This run site is located along road number 1027 which is 9KM north of the one and only traffic signal on Petchkasem in Cha Am.
From the signal, drive north and when you get to the 197 KM Marker located near the Premium Outlet, be in the left lane for a left turn at a Yellow Roofed Bus Stop. Turn left here. You are now on road number 1027 which leads to the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand.
However, you will not go that far.
From where you make the turn, go only 5.5 KM until you come to HHH sign indicating the run site on your right. Park along side the dirt track. If you use a GPS, coordinates are: N 12 Degrees, 52.017' E 099 degrees 52.017'

IMPORTANT: There is no restaurant scheduled for On After the run. Bring along a picnic basket with sandwiches or whatever else you might want to eat. There will be a BBQ grill available for you to use if you wish. Also bring some of your favorite beverage. It's up to you. Beer, wine or whatever. Once the hash coolers are empty they will stay empty until 3 August. There is a good shelter near the car park which will be used in case of rain. We will have gas lights to keep away the darkness. We might even have some live entertainmet.

The run / hike begins at 5 but please be at the runsite in plenty of time to pay your hash taxes before the pre-run circle at 1655.
200 baht for Male beer drinkers, 150 baht for Female beer drinkers, 100 baht for teatotalers, and 50 baht for kids over 8 years.

Your hares are Pedalphile (*) and Ballbanger (*). You might want to add the numbers to your cell phone in case you get lost on your way to the hash or along the trail.

The trail for walkers is level and scenic forest pathways with some of the same for runners except for a huge speedbump added for running pleasure. Figure 5.5 KM for the walkers and 6.5 for runners. You might encounter cattle and a couple barking dogs, a little well marked barbed wire and various species of snakes.
Keeping this in mind, if you have half a mind to join the hash, that is all you need. We try to take care of each other but we all hash at our own risk."

P.M. me if further info. is required.

What a shame - last week's run (when I was injured) was fairly local. This week's run is 29.6 miles away. Even breaking all speed records, there is no way I could even get close in time for the start.

Don't worry, I'm determined - I'll be at the next local(ish) run.

Don't forget, the first lesson is always free with the WKF - absolutely no obligation

I think you'll find it's the same organisation, different branch. The start time of 1pm is the big give away. Also the above hash mentions a 7.7Km run, whereas the article states a 40Km cycle.
