ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK Movies at Hua Hin Cinema

Post by Big Boy » Sat Dec 29, 2012 3:55 pm

Hua Hin Cinema gets a lot of bad press because people assume that they don't show movies in English. I can say through experience that in my 8 months here, my son and I have been to watch quite a few movies there. They may not be in English on day 1, and the showing in English might not last very long, but movies in English are their if you are that way inclined, and I know that not everybody enjoys going to the cinema.

I check most days to see if anything is showing in English. I've checked with Admin, and they have given me permission to notify members of the forum when showings in English are taking place.

Starting from today, I will notify whenever I see a movie with English soundtrack being shown. I will try to link the movies to the IMDB data base to enable you see reviews.

So to start us off:

Jack Reacher is being shown today at 16:20, 19:00 and 21:40

NB: Because of the haphazard way movies are shown here, there is no guarantee that a movie will be shown the following day, and if it is, the showtimes might differ.

Good initiative.

I went to the Hobbit with an English soundtrack last time and tried to promote it trough our restaurant website and Facebook page as I think the more people that go to the English versions the more we will see of them, so everyone that likes to go to the cinema should promote this to his/her friends!
Regards,

Manou

We didn't go. He had to work overtime. We've decided to wait for a download on that one. Next one we'll be watching (if in English) is Hansell & Gretal, later this month.

Saw UPSIDE DOWN today at the times above and quite a nice experience for a change
Bit cold in the place though so get wrapped up a bit.

Big Arnies new film was previewed and seems to be in English . New die hard was shown in Thai.

But at least they seem to be giving it a go. Would be better if they advertised a bit more though.

Will go back and good value different priced seating but at 160 baht no complaints here.

Would be worth trying to keep the thread updated so it builds a following and then who knows we may get more every week

I totally agree about the temperature in there - it does get a bit chilly.

Regarding trailers - they are nearly always shown in English, but unfortunately that doesn't mean they will be shown English.

Regarding pricing, prices change daily (there is a pricing board underneath the preview screen near the ticket desk). Wednesdays are by far the cheapest.

Hansel & Gretal is released tomorrow. I've been waiting for this one for a while - I'm hoping and preying that it is going to be shown in English.

At the moment, still only Upside Down in English.

Hansel & Gretal

Excellent movie - action from start to finish. Even the obligatory love scene only lasted about a minute, and was actually relevant to the story. Nice 3D effects as well. Well worth the effort :D

Still showing in English at the same times today.
