Hua Hin City u.15s 0 - 2 Suphanburi u.15s

This game was played on Lake Takiab, and should never have started. The pitch was totally waterlogged, and these young kids could quite easily have caused each other career ending injuries.

The match was dominated by the conditions and the referee's whistle - the referee was definitely making the match all about him, and I would guess he must have shown 15 Yellow Cards and a Red Card.

It seemed throughout the match Hua Hin players were being tackled by puddle after puddle. Suphanburi weren't much better, but they did manage to avoid a few puddle tackles.

The first goal came after a save by the Hua Hin keeper, but the rebound was well trapped by a puddle. The puddle set up the ball perfectly for a tap in.

No problems with the second goal. A beautifully weighted corner, headed into the top left corner.

Outside of that there were no other shots on goal. It could have been 3-0 when thevkeeper rushed out for a back pass and he let it straight past him. Fortunately a puddle stopped it on the line.

Today was such a shame - the usual standard of football couldn't be played. Suphanburi were probably worthy winners for the only decent 30 seconds of football.

Yes, we all did it. It was rare to have a proper pitch when wecwere young - it was fun, but these guys are playing in a national league, which has been formed because they are hopefully the future of Thai football. They were as so much risk of doing themselves serious injury playing competitive football in those conditions.

A referee going apeshit with yellow and red cards trying to get the lads to ease off defeats the object. He should have had the balls to postpone the game.

Maybe the question should be asked, "Where were the groundsmen?" I've seen it many times in real football in the UK where a team of groundsmen work their socks off with forks to make a waterlogged pitch playable. I don't think Thais have worked out the importance of a full time ground staff.

I've been desperately trying to find out the result. I have learnt earlier this morning that the match was postponed by a week until 12 Oct.

A bad day at the office for our Academy sides today:

Hua Hin City u.13s 1 - 2 Suphanburi u.13s

First Half comment:

Hua Hin u.13s 1 - 2 Suphanburi u.13s

Hua Hin started really brightly and kept the visitor's goal under siege for the first 10 minutes. Then a quick break away and Hua Hin were a goal down.

After this the visitors moved up a couple of gears, and Hua Hin have barely been in the match, despite managing an equaliser.

Second Half comment:

A better 2nd half, but not good enough. The Suphanburi keeper was outstanding. Overall, the Suphanburi standard of football was much better than a good Hua Hin side.

Hua Hin City u.15s 2 - 3 Simork u.15s

Enjoyable end to end stuff. Result could have gone either way. Simork managed the winner in what should have been a draw.

Team of the day - Suphanburi u.13s - played very well.

Oh, one thing more, we were up to 6 Farangs at today's matches. Every one that I've spoken to say they enjoy this football more than the 1st team.

I turned up expecting to watch the Under 13s but it turned out to be the Under 15s as the Under 13s played earlier.

A very enjoyable 90 mintes of football which a draw would of been a fair result.

Better than any game I have seen in two seasons following the 1st team home and away.

When I mentioned to Big Boy about setting up a section for the Academy teams, I felt that they deserve their own section. Mentioning these young men in the same breath as the First Team just did not seem right. The U13 team have been outstanding in recent weeks against teams far bigger physically than them. They get stuck in and never stop until the final whistle. I love that. They collapse with exhaustion at the end which shows their 100% effort. The two goals they scored were out of the top drawer and if a Premiership player had scored them we would be talking about it for weeks. The atmosphere created by the supporters, mostly Mums and Dads, is ear-splitting. Keep up the good work guys!!!

I'm surprised you didn't mention that turn by our No.10 near the corner flag - it was skill like you usually attribute to Brazilian football. Really top notch, I think Christiano Ronaldo could learn a thing or 2 :D .

Yeah, how could I possibly forget that bit of trickery. It was magical wasn't it. I just hope that the coaches encourage them to try things like that. I cannot wait for them to play that team at the bottom of the league. It could be a goalfest!!
