I didn't stay late, but my son did. Not a sign of any trouble - a carnival atmosphere.

That's Great news! Hua Hin and Thailand has had a rough couple of years and for many people it was loosing its shine. I noticed a lot fewer bars open on both Binta and Soi 80 which might have kept things in check. Looks like the road deaths will be down but accidents up.
Now semi retired 60:40 Thailand: UK ( seems to be working well)

I never stayed out too late, but up until I left Binta there was no trouble at all, and in my opinion, it was a lot quieter all over Hua-Hin compared to past years.

Good fun all day

Hi All
Definitely quieter on the 13th, but the night of the 12th was very busy. Not seen so many people roaming around that early (20.00) with their water guns at the ready. Still all in good jest. I think there was a big party in Selankam(sic).
Good fun and no trouble.
Regards

Something I wasn't aware of on the 13th, but it's just come through a misty memory from my son. The Army walked through Binthabat, and closed down the water throwing at 8pm. IMHO a good move. I think everybody had a great day, and 8pm was a sensible finish time.

Funny thing though, my son had just re-loaded his WMD (it was huge), and it was quite heavy when loaded. He was so sozzled, he didn't have the brains to dump the water, and carried it all of the way home

If anybody needs an extra dose of Songkran, they're battling at Pranburi today.

Ah, the text accompaniment from TAT said today - my apologies, but I don't read Thai. If TAT send me something, I try to share.

The last gasp as festivities continued yesterday in Samut Prakan. Good photos at link. Pete

as usual i spent a few days in Kanchanaburi At a hotel where the staff are told that the guests are there to escape the nonsense and did not encounter a single splash except the T in my G & T.

An interesting concept. Were you confined to your hotel, or could you enjoy the delights of one of my favourite Thai destinations, Kanchanaburi? If the former, did you really have to travel all of that way to avoid getting wet?
