The First Hua Hin Marathon will be run in the seaside town on May 13th 2018.

Runners will compete for a cup graciously donated by Her Majesty Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

The race at just over 42 kilometers will start at Wat Krailat and weave its way through town utilizing two U-turns before ending where it began.

Also taking place will be a half marathon of 21.1 kms, a mini marathon of 10 kms and a fun run of 5 kms.

Three thousand entrants are expected.

Apart from the royal seal of approval the event will be sponsored by local business, the municipality and TAT.

Deputy governor of Prachuab Khiri Khan Phongphan Vichiansamut yesterday presided over the launch of the event at the local offices in Hua Hin.

This is coming up next weekend and my better half and her marathon manic friends will be driving down for it. Not me unfortunately as the daughter must be in school May 14 and their return drive is not until the 14th. Regardless, if any good photos are taken I'll post. Pete

EDIT: I hope they make the effort to clear any packs of snapping dogs from the route. :D

:lach: Yes, not really a surprise. I'll tell her if chased by dogs jump into the sea.....and probably be eaten by a shark! :run: We also can't forget the rabid beach horses. :thumb:

All over before 0800, at least the 21km version, 42km still going. She did well and still trying to get 21km down to 2 hours or under, she'll make it eventually. :D Last 6km was on the sand which is tough to do at the end. Pete
