Thai STEP Classes

Post by bapak »

Several months ago The Learning Centre commenced STEP Thai conversation classes. They have proved to be immensely popular.

STEP Thai class was designed for those students who have some knowledge of Thai... that they are past the alphabet, tones, etc. stage of learning Thai, and now want something more practical.

The 1 hour classes are offered every day during the week, where the STEP student can either attend or not depending on their available time. Each session offers a different subject.. one day perhaps directions , next day dining, or banking, and so on.

STEP classes are a fast flexible way to learn Thai. They are designed to provide everything you need for effective Thai communication in the shortest possible time.

Cost is Baht 170 per hour. You are only paying if you attend.

For more details, email: info@learningcentre.co.th or phone: Khun Jeab at 083 801 1335 (Thai/English), or just drop by.

To me, that's a great deal. Is it mainly spoken, or reading and writing as well. The definition above isn't clear on that. I wish there was something like that near to me but alas, there is not. Pete

EDIT: Whoops...I skipped right over that word "conversation".

Sounds good to me too. Will probably pop my head in in due time. Too many schools only deliver basic instruction and once you've gotten past that, there really is quite a dearth of options.

I took up bapak's kind offer of a free trial class this morning and was very impressed.

It's conversational with no reading or writing.
Today the teacher dealt with how to make and take a telephone call, i.e. asking to speak to someone, leaving a message etc.
The idea is to deal with different everyday situations - very useful stuff.

There were only 4 of us in the class today and I really did learn something.
1 hour was almost not enough!
The teacher is very competent and explains things clearly.

Anyway, the outcome is that I've booked 10 classes - starting tomorrow.

Wish I'd got into this a long time go - but it's never too late!!
