Exaggeration or not, its a pretty stupid way to ride a bike, especially if you are going to forget that additional width. It winds me up, but its why I have cameras. As I have said, the danger is to the bike. Even if they dent the truck, it is repairable, and repairs in Thailand are cheap. Many don't bother with helmets, so if they dent their head..........................
If its a 60 yo bloke riding a bike with golf clubs on back its far more likely to be a big scooter(pcx, forza, n max) than a scoopy
I agree it's a stupid way to ride IF you don't take account of extra width. Otherwise it's perfectly fine. Less wider than side car bikes delivering water/ice.
If golf riders have hit you multiple times then they deserve multiple serious injuries for their reckless driving.
Were they overtaking you or going other way? The way golf bags are almost exclusively built then the extra width would be on their left side, so that would suggest they're overtaking you.
It's very unlikely they'd clip you coming at you as due to design the club heads don't protrude out much at all beyond the width of bike. Almost all the extra width comes out the base of bag on the opposite side and is lower than the 'mouth' end to stop clubs tipping out.
