Car Parking in the Bintabaht area

Post by oakdale160 »

Close to that area.
Last night when it started to rain, I took shelter at the downtown McDs, In that little area called Bayana Mall.
Apart from the 3 western restaurants, McDs, Subway and BBQ place, it is completely empty, every shop closed.
I travel by m/b and it was pointed out to me that the whole area including BB is a parking nightmare, is that it?

^Yes, that's why I rarely go downtown. There is no parking unless you can find a place on the road to the beach in the last block, in the temple (20 baht) where you have to be out by 10 or 10:30 or your car gets locked in unitl morning, or in the Hilton garage which will cost a couple of hundred baht. It seems like around 50% of the curbside parking down there is taken up by rental cars and bikes and tuk tuks and songtaews looking for customers.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Does the car park at Collonade mall close at night? Even if not, there's plenty of parking space on the street that goes between Collonade and Hua Hin Shopping Mall

Both of those have started issueing parking passes. I'm not sure if or how much you would get charged if they know you parked there and didn't shop. How late do those places stay open? I suppose Hua Hin Mall parking would be available after closing and would be convenient for some.

Those are both on the wrong side of Phetkasem for most of the downtown bars and restaurants. With the bib controlling that traffic light it can take upwards to 10 minutes just to get across the street depending on your timing... not a big deal for most, I know.
