Majestic Creek Country Club & Resort

Post by Lev »

We are very proud to announce our first major golf course sponsor.

Majestic Creek Country Club & Resort: http://www.huahinmedia.com/majestic-creek.php

There have been some exciting developments including a Majestic Creek satellite clubhouse, in downtown Hua Hin. With some great Italian food on the menu, cold beer and free transport to and from the golf course for everyone, there is a real sense of the management's commitment to make something remarkable happen at Majestic Creek Country Club & Resort, and to change the way that people think about golf in Thailand.

Wow, that's exceptional value!. I haven't played there for a number of years, back then they had a dual-pricing policy on green fees, and maintenance was not the best. Glad to hear there appears to be a change of mindset for the better at Majestic and a focus on both foreigners and Thais.

Yes, sounds like a good deal. If you play 50 times per year for the next 5 years, then it will cost you 700 baht per round exc caddie fees and tips. The course will get better and all the new greens will be done by mid 2013. They have hired an experienced course builder to do the remaining greens and bunker renovations. I was sceptical at first but having looked around and from talking to 2 of my friends there, that are involved, I am sure that it is the best deal for anyone looking to buy a membership at present.

If they could get some kind of weekly members comp going like stated,it would really give the club a "members feel" similar to the ones back home and it would be something i would be interested in.
And members can use the resort pool for free as well..sounds like a good deal

Hats off to Majestic for their investment and change of attitude at the golf course, its always been a cool course but lackedd condition. The new attitude is a breath of fresh air and I trully hope the other courses such as Lake View, Springfield, Palm Hills etc follow suit and realise that if you want good business give the locals and just as importantly the tourists good value golf on well presented golf courses, Pattaya is so much more advanced in terms of deals, you can play top courses on their sport days for around 1200 baht.
Let hope that the others see the way forward, in the meantime all the best to the team at Majestic :)

I echo the sentiments already posted.
Hadn't played Majestic for years up until about 6 months ago and thought it had improved tremendously.
I always try and fit in one round there a month now.

I would also like to know where the satellite clubhouse is. This seems to be the best value course in Hua Hin by far.

Great changes being made & well done to the owner(s), for the effort & no doubt the funds!

Main issue for me is that every few weeks the "Management" changes. First the Farang guys, and now the younger Thai lad is gone.

I wonder what's going on there? If they can find a bit of stability in this area, they'll do well, I am sure

From what I have heard, it is going to be very difficult for any new management to change the way the staff work, but it has to be done to make the course better. The previous manager didn't push the staff to work and follow daily routines. They used to go days without cutting the grass or raking the bunkers! Anyone who has worked in Thailand will know how difficult it is to retrain bad staff! If you push them to work harder they will often resort to physically threatening you! Has happened many times at local golf courses. Will be interesting to see what happens but the owner is aware of the problems and realises it will take time to change habits.

The quota of 300 has been reached so no longer valid

Latest Advice is they have about 330 members and have set a max at 400. "A" course opened on Thursday, imho not as good as before, too many bunkers removed. Membership now 50,000 joining rest of the offer remains the same

1500 baht (including cart) + 300 baht caddie tip + 200 baht drinks = 2000bht = say £50.00 not bad for a day's golf. Will be having a few rounds this month for sure :-)
