Golf Question

Post by TamBurns »

I'm hoping for a little help with a golf based question.

Last month 7 friends and I played golf in the HH area, taking in the courses at Black Mountain, Palm Hills, Banyan and Sea Pines.

Since we got home it's been suggested that there are also a few 'hidden gems' which are just as good but not quite as well known.

Any golfers out there who know the region reasonably well and can make a few recommendations? We're back for two weeks in November so any help appreciated.

Tam.

Tam, seems that you missed playing a few of the more mature golf courses in the area such as Springfield, Imperial Lake View, and Majestic Creek...plus...um Royal Hua Hin which is a gem purely for historical value. Much further out of town are Kaeng Krachan amd Milford.

Hi Tam,

As you are going to be here for 2 weeks, try to play them all!

The link BB posted is a good start. If you don't want to worry about driving back and forth to the courses yourself, there are several golf tour companies in town who will make all the bookings and provide transport, for a fee of course.

My personal favourite is Royal Hua Hin, not quite as manicured as some of its posh neighbours, but it has a certain attraction. The big hitters don't seem to like it much.....

The information on the link is good and honest but was last updated in Jan 2011. Some of the green fees have gone up since then.

Sorry heartofmidlothian, those publications are usually updated annually. I am sure Admin will pick up on the oversight, and update it soon.

However, getting back to the OP, it should help Tam know what is about.
