I spoke to someone who had seen the course and he was not VERY impressed. I seem to remember him saying it was quite short, and it had an unusual breakdown of holes in so far as there were 6 par 3's, 6 par4's and 6 par 5's and that a flat lie was also unusual.

5* is an over rated term these days so it will interesting to read your report after visiting

Hi Musungu , I cannot fully comment as I have not played it yet, from the photos i've seen it looks great and at 6789 yds think its more than long enough for me, if you are saying the course is not very flat I have to agree with that, that should prove a good test

Musungu, what is wrong with a course that has 6 par 3's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 5's.? Sounds interesting and sensible to me. I have heard so many strange views on courses that dont fit the norm of being 7000 plus yards, par 72 etc. Cypress Point is probably one of the best courses in the world but is very short!
Think you should go and play it before criticising it. All the reports that I heard from the recent trip were very good.

Hey 3 wood,
I might well be interested in that day. Will let you know closer to the time.
As it seems a bit long, can I go off the junior tees?

Good news for all those who signed up for this trip.
Due to lager than expected no's signed up for this trip, we are happy to inform you that the cost of the trip has come down, and the organisers will not be pocketing the difference, hence cost per person has come down to 3350B.

Well, I'll be the first to comment on yesterday's trip to Nikanti.
All-in-all, it was a great day out at a fantastic course. We left on a VIP bus that took approx 2.5 hours to get to the course where we were met by the management staff and all the caddies. There were plenty of other staff to usher us in the right directions to the pro shop and changing rooms. The clubhouse may look a little "strange" in design from the outside (at least to me), but inside was state of the art - automatic sliding doors everywhere and the first locker card (as opposed to a key) that I've ever had - someone had to show me how that worked!!
We were all teeing of shortly after breakfast from a shotgun start. The course was awesome. Off the blue tees, it's 6,273 yds so not especially long but it certainly played long. The layout is excellent with water and bunkers strategically placed. You've certainly got to think your way round. The condition couldn't have been better. I could have eaten my dinner off the fairways, there was plenty of sand in the bunkers and the greens were responsive to spin and putted true. Didn't like the water though as I managed to find it on more than one occasion!!
The buggies all had GPS systems with touchscreens. Want to know how far it is to the water or a set of fairway bunkers? Just touch the screen on them and there's your answer. We even got complimentary water and Gatorade from a small cold box.
After the round, a buffet dinner was served. There was plenty of it and I certainly left full up.
Then the return journey and it was beer o'clock. We arrived back in HH at 8.10pm.
So, a great day out and my thanks go to the two main organisers (you know who you are) and Hua Hin Golf Community who promoted the event and performed sterling work on the bus. Also thanks to JW and others who laid on all the booze and soft drinks. I think there will be a few sore heads this morning!!
BTW, 3wood had a new nickname - headbut. He just couldn't grasp the fact that it's best to hold onto something when walking or standing on a moving bus. As a result, he managed to smack his head against speakers that were set into the luggage racks on two occasions. He'll have a couple of nasty lumps on his forehead this morning!!
Again, thanks to all for a great day out.
PS - I see that whilst writing this, others have already commented.

Do any of the courses in HH offer a twilight rate?

I see that Palm Hills advertises an 'after 3pm' deal, but it expired in 2014.

Any info would be appreciated.
