majestic creek stay and play

Post by liveforgolf »

Hi I'm thinking of booking this package. I've been told the course is very good but there appear to be conflicting views on this board about the quality of the golf course. The package seems good value for money especially if I play more than one game per day, but the course reviews worry me. Any advice?

Hello liveforgolf,
I played at Majestic a week ago.
The course, both greens & fairways are in excellent condition.
Highly recommended!
The thing I enjoy about Majestic, is that it is spread out over a large area, and you don't have fairways running adjacent to each other.
So, it is not possible to hit an errant T shot and still have an easy recovery from the fairway of another hole.
Stay on the fairway of the hole you're playing and you make life a lot easier for yourself.
A great challenge of golf!

I've never had a problem playing Majestic Creek. One board member seemed to have a "hard on" for criticizing the course and owners.

Have a look at Trip Advisor for a more balanced view.

Cheers guys, thanks for the feedback. Similar to what my friend says, he also said he prefers majestic to black mountain for the precise reason you mention regarding parallel fairways.

Played Majestic many times, it’s a good course.
For a more balanced review of golf courses, hotels and restaurants it is better to combine this site with TripAdvisor.

Hi liveforgolf,

I'm a member there and I play every week. I've seen a huge improvement in the greens over the last month or two. Right now the course and the greens are looking good and it's 'millionaire's golf' as the crowds have gone home and we usually have the place to ourselves. Just check the comp times - from memory Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am-ish to avoid, or maybe join in.

Cheers

I would not stay at any golf course for a week to play golf. I love golf but unless you play twice a day (not too easy in this heat) you are left wanting to do something at night. Hua Hin is a long way from Majestic (if you have a few drinks) and it is pretty remote with not a lot of night life. Would recommend staying in Hua Hin and then playing more than one course while you are here. Majestic is as stated above, good. But after a few rounds, variety is in order I believe.
Happy Golfing what ever you decide.

That is very good advice.
Stay in Hua Hin and play a number of courses and enjoy your evenings.

Hi Kalbow

Thanks for the information. How do I join in with the competition. It would be good to get a game with the locals.

Cheers.

Ok I think that makes sense, and i have found some accommodation the centre of hua hin that is cheaper. Two rounds a day is my plan for most days but also tempted to play Springfield and black mountain. I can't wait and hope it does not rain. Thanks for the advice.
