Imperial Lake View

Post by HHHH »

Played Lake View yesterday. No carts, no lockers and even struggled to find caddies. Pro Shop staff uninterested - take it or leave it attitude. The course was terrible. Would have been better playing on concrete. Very poor condition. Considering the amount of water around the place, why don't they ensure they use it to improve the condition of the course. Even the price of a bottle of water was twice what it is at other courses in HH. As I don't want to ruin my clubs and enjoy my golf, definitely a 'no no' for me in the future!

How strange as I played there yesterday on C & D courses ( where the Tour Qualifying school played 2 weeks ago ) and it was great with tight fairways and excellent greens. I do agree that the buggies are long past their sell-by date though!

What a very negative rubbish and untrue review. Lake View is at this moment the fourth best course in Hua Hin with respect to condition. Only Black Mountain, Banyan & Sea Pines are better. Both Black Mountain & Banyan are only for millionaires and Sea Pines is always full of army players usually in 5 or 6-balls. The only really two bad things about Lake View are the carts (which should have been replaced years ago) and the changing rooms which need a drastic refresh. The design of the course is excellent, the scenary is stunning and the condition of the course is more than acceptable!

In reply to the above responses, the review was negative but definitely not rubbish nor untrue. I am not commenting on the scenery nor the design but on the condition of the course. We played A and B and the fairways were like concrete. It would appear that the courses were grossly overbooked - there being no caddies nor carts available at 11am. Perhaps more time should take time to read my comments in the context in which they were offered before criticising them.

I read your report and you are very, very wrong or you are spoilt by playing too many top courses. I have played about 400 different courses (including many of the top courses in the world) in my life and the great majority of these were a lot worse than Lake View.

I agree with expat71NL.
I played the course yesterday (CD) and it was in excellent condition especially the tees strangely.
Admittedly we played early but to say things like " I didn't want to ruin my clubs" is quite frankly a ridiculous statement.

I played A & B as well and agree about the fairways, no carts & not even a locker available. It is a shame about the dry & hard fairways because it is a great layout with some stunning views. The greens were ok & fairly quick. Maybe they put their time & effort into the C & D nines.

Can anyone who has played this course recently please give an update on the condition? Has there been any improvement?
