Sick Dog

Post by MajorBloodnok »

Hello,

our semi-adopted soi dog has been badly mauled and now has an abscess at his abdomen.

He is not used to a leash, and I would like to take him to a vet.
Not having a car and being handicapped this is impossible for me.

Do you know a Dog Sanctuary here in Hua Hin that might be able to help me or a
vet that might send someone to collect the dog?

Not for free, of course!
Hope to administer some antibiotics.

Thanks!

I tried phoning, but you seem to have changed your number.

I've sent you a PM - needs an immediate response please.

[Edit] My offer of help has now time expired - had to be tonight (vet hospital closes at 19:30).

Therefore MajorBloodnok still needs help.

MB - If you still need this there are at least two options:

Hua Hin Dog Shelter (the royally sponsored one) - the phone number is 032 532 476.

Hua Hin Thessaban (if you're in Hua Hin) Dog care centre (part of public health dept.) - 032 516 551.

The Tessaban might just divert to the Dog Shelter anyway - I don't know.

Hope this is some help anyway.

Hello,

many thanks! Sorry for not coming back earlier.

I am afraid my post was a bit rash. My wife & our Thai friend reminded me
that we should not disregard & snub our Thai landlord who is the original minder
of this dog. We told him the dog needed a doctor, and the next day a mobile vet
came and administered a jab or two(?). Strangely he did not inspect the wound.(?)
Anyway our antibiotics worked miracles. Fortunately he swallowed them without
any problem. I cleaned the wounds with a mild antiseptic, and soon the abscess/
inflammation/swelling receded. The three bite punctures in his abdomen started
healing and have closed now. All's well that ends well!Lol
Kind regards,
