fast ferry to Pattaya

Post by maccastime »

Hi Lads.
Would any kind person advise me of the situation of the fast ferry to Pattaya.Firstly there has been a lot of talk about it,but has it commenced?
If so where exactly does it go from, and where does it complete the trip in Patts. How long does the trip take.
What is the cost.
Many thanx

To my knowledge it does not exist

It's one of those things...talked about for years and the Idea keeps getting re-visited.

It did actually run for a while - late 80's I think, I saw it come in a few times.
It was a hydrofoil but the Fishermen wouldn’t let them use the Pier so they had to ferry people ashore in a small boat which took ages and was very inconvenient.
Usual story in many ways......

That seems to be about the state of it; the nearest we ever got was someone posting a picture of a boat about six months ago.

I think Barry's summary below is still accurate. Pete

Seriously folks, if there was a market and money to be made someone like Lomprayah would be doing it. Only falangs are dumb enough to think its viable.

To be honest, three years ago it was a pretty nasty drive to Pattaya and it once took me seven hours with being stuck in traffic trying to get past Bangkok.
Now with the improved road system I would drive it without even thinking about it.
