Ok it wasn't before... anyway I clearly thought I was posting in the new thread otherwise my comment of 'Hmm I'm pretty sure there's already been a thread on this service?' wouldn't have been in there! :)

Hi gang,
I am getting ready for my first trip to HH, and I was wondering if the bus station is on the route?
Thanks

Have I seen these same vehicles going out to the Floating Markets & the Big=Buddha?
Is this a regular route or has someone chartered them..?

Hi US. This is a different service. Its end points are Wat Huay Mongkol (so-called "big buddha") and close to Hua Hin railway station, more or less just opposite the Dutchman bar. No idea about frequency, though while sitting waiting at Wat Huay Mongkol one day I noticed two arrivals and departures and it may have been about half-hour intervals.

I've also noticed a new service along the Khlong Road, with route signs that say it passes Hua Hin Hospital and the airport (so maybe goes up to Soi 2?). Maybe it's circular along Petchkhasem and Khlong Road? In both directions (I happened to see two passing in opposite directions). However, I have no idea about the service frequency. When I've seen them I've always been in the car and never seen a passenger on them. On occasions when I've walked along the Khlong Road from Smor Phrong to Tan Samai / Khao Noi traffic lights, which takes about 30 minutes, I've never seen one.

Depends which bus station, there's plenty of bikes and tuk tuks at the bus stations, it's not worth messing about after a long bus journey from wherever.

I have seen a couple of new maps on the forum lately showing the Bars around the Bintabaht and Soi 80 areas and was wondering if any helpful BM was of the mind to produce one for the Baht Bus routes. It would certainly help a newbie to HH like me and maybe of interest to many others.
Thanks in advance if it is possible.

I was at the new immigration office this afternoon. While sat there, I realised there was no longer a songthaew service to Immigration. However, a couple of minutes later, a Makro bus (the old songthaew service to Immigration) pulled into the car park, and parked up. He was still there when we left.

Does anybody know if the Makro bus has changed its route, or whether the bus I saw was a private hire?

I got the orange songthaew today - got on opposite Makro heading south, it turned west along soi 6, south along Klong Rd, east on 70, south on Sa Song, east on 76 and south on Phetkasem at least as far as 75 where I got off.

Regarding the green songthaew which I got from soi 94 to Makro - a lot of people got on at Hua Hin hospital, more than I would have expected given that we were nearing the end of its route (it completely filled up). I just wondered if these folks were planing on staying on the bus to the end of its run and then heading south, thereby saving themselves the walk back to the other side of Phetkasem Road - is this an acceptable practice? I ask because getting across the road outside Makro was a bit nerve shredding, given the speed of traffic - an experience I prefer not to repeat!

The orange bus waits just inside Soi 4 - no need to cross that road. :D

Ah - good to know, thanks. Is Makro the northern limit of its run? (apart from going a little further north to turn round I guess?)

The white baht bus runs on soi 94, the green one runs up and down Phetkasem Rd by the entrance to soi 94. Details of route and schedule are on the forum somewhere. BigBoy will come along in a while and point you to more specific info.
