No, but find a taxi driver you like (I keep 5 numbers on my phone i.e. Taxi 1, Taxi 2 etc), and ask for his/her card. He will gladly pick you up wherever you need him (or her) from.

Do the red/orange & white 10 baht buses still run? I've always used them but have not seen any running for a few weeks! Yes, Green ones run as per normal but the others appear to have gone missing.

^^ Yes, still running. You might have to wait up to an hour, but if the one that comes is full there'll be another a couple of minutes later (sometimes). Totally unreliable, unlike the other songthaew services.

^^ BTW the fare can be 10 or 20 baht depending on distance (unspecified).

Anyone have an update on the route and schedule for the white songthaews? I waited on soi 94 for over 45 mins and didn't see one. I just got back into town. I had used them in the past. I never saw them go both ways in the past either.

I do see them use Soi 94 very occasionally these days. I think they've gone further out of town, and basically operate what route suits them.

Anyone used the white songthaew's recently? Are the routes the same as posted years ago. I think I saw one going down soi 94 the other day. I would sure like an alternative to get from soi 94 area to downtown and back to avoid parking and danger.

as i wrote before ( => https://huahinforum.com/viewtopic.php?f ... 30#p433673 )

this week,
i saw the white baht-bus (with the red bonnet) running soi94 into petchcasem Rd one time,
as most of the time completely empty,

in my opinion because of the completely wrong marketing and wrong look of the car, (color)
* the white color of the car ist not such easy to recognize as the green songthaew
the color of the vehicles is unfavorable and thus the vehicles are difficult to recognizable from a distance
* i did not see any reliable timetable
* ( => https://huahinforum.com/viewtopic.php?f ... 30#p433673 )
take it easy

Apologies if going over old ground...

I use the green baht bus (airport - Khao takiab) and many times I have gone say Bluport- back to my condo Baan Klang just north of Soi 70

At least 5 times I stayed on the bus at the centre point in Sa song(most get off there) and then he heads North for the airport and I get off at my stop shortly after that and have paid 10 baht 6 times.

Then the other day I did the same and the driver insisted I pay 20 baht. I objected twice but he was adamant I pay 20 baht

Was I 'done' or did I get away with it 6 times before(seems odd that I would)?!

That said I'm aware that if I go SOUTH from say HH Hospital to Bluport I have to pay 10 b to centre point then another 10 to Bluport

Can someone please clarify?

Thanks

You should have paid 20 THB.
It's two journeys. One along the way from Takieb to the night market crossroads and a second from there to the airport and back. Both journeys are 10 THB each despite the fact that you stay on the same songthaew when traveling north.

Ok must have just been lucky before that.

yes when going South you change busses I get that!

But will they ALWAYS stop at night Market going South, or do they sometimes carry on past Soi 70 and Clock Tower and keep going?

I'm sure I've seen some do that, or perhaps it was a different bus/route?

Is there another bus I can take from Baan Klang to Bluport (or even better one than then goes up Soi 102)?

Thanks

The green songthaews always go to the night market going south. It's where they turn around and wait their turn for the second journey to KT.
It's possible that you've seen a green one (rather than a different colour) going straight on from Chomsin to the clock tower but that will have been a taxi service which some of the drivers do when not operating on the local route or just someone going to start/ending work.
Can't help you with soi 102.
