Reasonably proced hotel/guesthouse in Chiang Mai

Post by barrys »

I have to go to Chiang Mai for a few days next week.
Does anyone know of a reasonably priced hotel/guesthouse in a central location.

Thanks a lot.

I stayed at this place last year, very reasonably priced and in the middle of it: http://www.travellerinnhotel.net

What's your definition of 'reasonably priced'?

Not sure about them being "proced", but I have used the following several times. Chinese style, clean, easy access and quiet area. Not been there in the last 3 or 4 years.

Green Palace Hotel (cannot find website, but several reports on Google)

stayed last january at the 'People Palace', quite close to night markets but quiet with good car access and parking. divided into no.1 and 2 buildings. No.2 is better.

Stayed here a few times. Centrally located can walk to just about anything you need in the heart of the city. Close to a few bars the night Bazaar and Walking St. lot's of restaurants. Clean spacious rooms and great staff, free traditional massage. (which was excellent) Great value I thought at 1600Bt a night low season as I recall.

Thanks a lot for all your suggestions, guys

After cross-referencing Tripadvisor and other sites, I finally found an oz/thai-run guesthouse called MiniCost.

Contacted them via email, got a prompt response and they were very efficient.
So I've opted for that - I'll write a report on it here when I get back at the end of next week.

Once again, thanks for all your help
