The ferry piers on both sides is where a web cam is really needed. Would be a plus for potential tourists to see ferry activity, and it would give us a good idea concerning passenger volume. Has anyone seen any cargo being loaded to supplement passengers? If I had to bet I would lean toward the operation being subsidized in some manner by the Gov., at least in the early days given the expense of vessel purchase and other start up costs. Pete

The Pattaya ferry, is it a challenge to embark and board for someone with a slight disability walking, do they have handrails on the boarding ramps or are they more easily accessed.

On this side there is a ramp with handrails that was fairly gentle slope, but this will depend a bit on the height of the tide......someone else will be along to say what it's like at the other side.

Just checking the departure time from HH, Buks has posted 3pm this does not match the web site times, same for departure from Pats.
Can anyone confirm before I drive to their office

It would be nice if somebody could update the OP with the latest information such as website url, depature times etc as this is quite a long thread to have to trawl through to get the required information

I managed to find the website address but I have another question that probably is answered somewhere, but I couldn't find the answer.

If a ticket is booked and the ferry doesn't run due to the weather, are you entitled to a refund or are you expected to go on another day?

Departure times are on the web site however not the same as posted above. I think the web site times are correct as the post above was only until 30 May.
There is no mention on the web site of cancellation by the operator.
There is a tab for timetable but does not give any times. Only the booking section on the right gives times.

Hua Hin-Pattaya ferry services suspended Nov 5-6
Ferry services between Hua Hin and Pattaya will be suspended on Nov 5-6 for safety reason due to strong waves in the Gulf of Thailand, the Prachuap Khiri Khan marine office announced on Saturday (Nov 4).

Kittiporn Thepyu-amnuay, chief of the disaster prevention and mitigation office of Prachuap Khiri Khan province, said the Region 3 marine office announced the suspension of the ferry services after consulting with concerned agencies and the ferry operator.

The Thai Meteorological Department has predicted that waves in the Gulf of Thailand will be 2-3 metres high as low pressure cell covers the lower South.

“Abundant rain still occur over the South that has torrential downpours in some areas. People should beware of possible flash flood and strong winds. Affected areas are Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Krabi, Trang and Satun.”

“The strong wind waves 2-3 meters high are likely in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore. People in the South (east coast) should beware of inshore surge,” according to the Thai Meteorological Department’s weather warning issued at 5pm today (Nov 4).

The ferry services are expected to resume after the weather condition has returned to normal, Mr Kittiporn said.
