Any ferry from H.H. to Pattaya now?

Post by qoochasy »

I plan to stay in Hua Hin at 20~21 June then go to pattaya. Any ferry between Hua Hin to Pattaya now? It seems Thailiving Ferry stopped running since 2011.

If no ferry available, can you suggest how to get to PTY quicklier and cheaper?
Mini bus from HH to PTY directly?
Mini bus from HH to Bangkok, mini bus to PTY?

Looking forward for someone's kindly reply.

Check this link out - if the dates suit, you can fly in 30 minutes for under 1,000 Baht.

Thx for Big Boy and bsdk1960~~~>_<
check for the flight date not suitable, too late at night and far away from pattaya center.
So we decide go by bus finally.
Can sb suggest how much and how long for take a taxi/car driving directly from HH to PTY?
and how about the price and time of bus to bangkok, then to PTY?
Any link for schedule of bus?

I think you should get a taxi for about 3,500 Baht, and it would take about 5 hours.

IMHO your best option would be to book the VIP bus to the Airport and then the VIP Airport bus to Pattaya. Those buses are really comfortable and would cost under 600 baht total.

If there was a ferry would you use it?

PATTAYA – June 1,2015 [PattayDailyNews]; at 13.30 pm Sawang Borriboon rescue team was notified by Rung-Ora-Wan boat that the boat was on fire and was carrying 102 passengers. After notification the officers rushed to rescue the boat.

At the scene the officers found a passenger ferry and the engine was on fire. The crew had tried to extinguish the fire with fire extinguishers. Also all the Chinese passengers had been rescued by about 10 speed boats that had taken them all a shore. Initially, it’s expected that the cause of fire was due to the engine overheating but will be investigated in depth to find the actual cause.

The reporters revealed that within in the last couple of days there have been 2 marine accidents that could have been a lot worse. A few days ago a boat sank and today a boat set on fire but luckily there were no injuries or deaths.

^ The above are old converted fishing boats, plus one HK type Star Ferry they have over there to go only from Pattaya mainland to Koh Larn island, a short trip, or act as dinner boats. Not the type of boats that would be used in the open gulf to Hua Hin.

Here is a video of the sinking ferry....not really a ferry but a shuttle boat.

I think most if not all of the mini bus operators in Hua-Hin have scheduled trips to Pattaya now. Not sure of cost or times though.

Ferry from Pattaya to Hua Hin

Post by rotorbreeze »

Does anyone know if a scooter can be taken on ferry crossing...I would love to take my Forza to Hua Hin and go further south avoiding the traffic and bridge crossings of Bangkok...or any train..that would go from Pattaya to Hua Hin and allow the shipment of scooter?.... Thanks..Ron 8)

I do know some people actually use Thai Post to *mail* their moto-sais (scooters). Apparently it's not as far fetched as it might sound, and apparently not too expensive.

You definitely can post your scooter via Thai mail, it is very simple you just need to check with your local post office as all may not do it. You have to empty the fuel tank before handing the vehicle into the post office.

And best of all "no envelope required".
