OMG, I've just had a killer 13 hour drive North, and a 12 hour drive home again because I couldn't find suitable flights from Suvarnabumi, and getting to and from Don Mueng is such a nause. If only I'd known last Friday

Google's Thai translation may be crap, but it's better than mine.

Well, I actually fell for it. I (wrongly) assumed:

- Big bus to Don Muang, there must be a bus station for the return trip, but no, it does what it says on the tin - a bus service to Don Mueng only. There is no service from Don Mueng to Hua Hin :? :cuss:

- Their web site would tell the truth i.e. only 3 seats across - wrong, there are 4 seats across (on the computer seating plan).

Anyway, I'd already booked my flights from and to Don Mueng in anticipation of a return service - OK, shit happens. We go to the counter to buy an outgoing ticket. I'd already read the posters and web site (I was doubtful about a return service at that point), and had decided the 0900 departure would be perfect. Arrive at 12:30(ish). Have a bite of lunch, check in, and mooch about for a couple of hours before departure.

The response was, "What time is your flight?"

"16:20" we reply.

"Sorry, I can't sell you a ticket for that day," was the unexpected response.

"Why?" I ask.

"The bus doesn't arrive until 18:00. You will miss your flight," she says.

"But we want tickets on the 09:00 departure," is my reply.

With a grunt, we were sold 2 tickets.

We enquired about homeward journey, and were told that we'd need to get a taxi to Viphawadi. We would have been pushing it to pick up the bus at Don Muang, so definitely wouldn't have time to take a taxi to somewhere instead.

I've booked the Suvarnabuhmi bus for the return journey.

Definitely not the service I was hoping for.

Any update on this service? Is the pick-up point at Hua Hin bus station or opposite the temple (near Starbucks)?
The website is pish!
I need to get to Don Mueang this evening.
Cheers,
GN.

why does this happen--I clickon this thread, it says page 1 and that there are 10 posts, but only one is there to read. How do you get back and read the whole thread.

Don't use the Latest Topics box on the right. It's just a truncated version of the thread. Go to "new posts" or "unread posts" under Quick Links In the dark grey area upper left. Pete

I'm pretty sure that the bus you're after goes from the bus station that the airport bus uses, on Petchakasem road next to 96/1.

Get to the end of 96 (Petchkasem end), turn right and it's about 10 yards down the road,
