Dinosaur Park, near Kalasin

Post by Big Boy »

We've just been to the North East for a funeral. You can only only do so much praying/chanting, so we took a day off. Problem was that we were in Isaan, and apart from watching the rice grow, there is very little else to do.

 We've often seen signs for dinosaurs, but never investigated - it could be an adventure. A quick check online, and there are 2 places - one near Kalasin and one near Khon Kaen. Kalasin was closest, so a quick check on Kalasin Points of Interest on the SatNav, and there it was - Dinosaur Park. Off we went - no idea what to expect.

As we approached, there were a lot of dinosaur images standing by the roadside.

Finally we arrived, and what a disappointment - a lot of stone statues, laid out in a park. I don't suppose we could complain - it did what it said on the tin - there were dinosaurs and there was a park.

A pleasant enough 5 minutes walking around the park, but not good for any more than kids. The only good point was that it was free.

However, outside the park, there was a sign directing people to Sirindhorn Museum a few Km down the road. Nothing else to do so off we went. Rather than mix the 2, I will write a separate report.
