Hua Hin bus station relocating?
Re: Hua Hin bus station relocating?
Yes off topic, but where in HH is walking without risk? At least walking upto the Bus station one facing the traffic.
Re: Hua Hin bus station relocating?
Just to confirm, after booking tickets online and doing the journey there and back recently, the prices offered online were:
Drop off at clock tower - 100bt
Drop off at a hotel - 100bt
Drop off at a hotel out of area - 200bt
In the spirit of typical Thai inconsistency, when boarding the bus to the airport, there was a little slip inside the seat pocket with the following options:
Drop off at clock tower - 30bt
Drop off at hotel (up to and including Khao Takiep) - 100bt
Taxi - contact front desk for information
When boarding the bus from the airport to Hua Hin, there was no information pamphlet. When we arrived at 9:30pm, the information/service counter was closed but there were buses waiting to provide hotel or clock tower connections. They seemed to want to charge 100bt regardless of destination. I'd already paid, but the van drivers appear fully equipped to deal with last-minute cash bookings (and looked slightly disappointed when I showed them my pre-paid ticket)

Re: Hua Hin bus station relocating?
We, four of us are arriving on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. at the new bus station.
We are going to a hotel on soi 94, what should we expect to pay for a taxi?
The help we have received todate has been invaluable on various other issues.
Thank you in anticipation.

$200-300 baht.
Re: Hua Hin bus station relocating?
That's great. The one decent bus service in Thailand - and one that I always recommended to friends - has been Thai'd. i.e. ruined and made stupid.
I challenge anyone, anywhere, at any time, to report one thing in Hua Hin that has gotten better. Or even one thing that has not gotten worse.
Sorry, I think I posted this in the wrong thread but I don't see a way to delete my post ...
Anyway, I was referring to the Hua Hin <> BKK bus service by Bell Travel.
