Yes and it’s crazily cheap! A friend uses it from Nr Palm Hills to get to HH and costs something like B2! Sorry don’t know the timings, but they are not very accurate anyway!

The timings point can be very relevant. It is not unusual for Thai trains to be at least an hour late.

I remember looking some while back and I believe it’s only 2 times a day in each direction as many of the trains that pass through Cha Am don’t stop. Sorry but it was a couple of years ago that I looked and can’t remember the timings but you should be able to find the time table fairly easily with the help of Mr Google

Have a search on here - I know somebody post the Hua Hin/Cha-Am timetable before. It surprised me how many trains there were.

The only real practical option is one train each way every day, 261, Cha am to HH and 262, HH to CA.

These trains only run between Bkk and Hua Hin then turn round and go back so the delay is usually minimal.

The other trains may have been travelling for 6+ hours and delays of 1+ hours is the norm so unless you want to hang around the railway station for a long time I would make alternative arrangements if 261 and 262 are not suitable.

please may i piggy back with another practical question: if i google and goasia shows this train as fully booked, i presume that is some kind of specialonline contingent right?

if youd rock up to the station youd still get on? (i know, i can just go and see but you havent seen fury like a train obsessed 2 yo scorned ;))

This might be a better site: https://www.thairailwayticket.com/eTSRT ... language=1

You'll notice that for such a short trip you can only book 24 hours before. Probably best to ask at the station.
